The capabilities of BNR Engineering are built around the core transportation and public infrastructure engineering knowledge base upon which the firm was founded. We have recently expanded our team to include periphery knowledge expertise considered fundamental to sound civil engineering practice. These include modern surveying and mapping technology, GIS, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, environmental engineering, construction management, and risk analysis.
Evaluation, Due Diligence, and Mapping
Our most senior surveying and mapping expert has watched the leading edge of engineering mapping and field surveying progress from the basic electronic distance measuring equipment to high precision mapping conducted by remote sensing devices mounted to aircraft and satellites. We recognized the value of modern techniques and equipment to help visualize the project for all stakeholders and to provide the most precise mapping upon which engineering is based. We also recognize that when performing due diligence, detailed field research and forensic evaluation of the conditions that may affect the project are essential, and that, experience and precision are the keys to effective risk management and the successful outcome of the project. Our diligence in collecting the facts is a direct result of Knowledge as a Core Value

Disaster Response, Recovery, and Emergency Management
In the aftermath of natural disasters, the value of a dedicated and cohesive team of engineering professionals becomes self-evident. Natural disasters follow their own rules of chaos, with each causing damages of varying degrees of effect that can often be unique to each incident or series of incidents. When the worst occurs, we are ready to deploy qualified, and experienced teams who have worked on disaster recovery projects together in the past.

Quality Control
BNR Engineering, LLC has a written quality control plan modeled on the California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) quality control model for civil engineering, and civil construction projects and processes. Each project we undertake for a client has a quality control plan written specifically for the circumstances of the project and anticipated challenges (PSQCP). We firmly believe in solid written project documentation and reporting by our engineering teams. The depth of our team’s experience is clear when reviewing a project specific quality control plan. Quality precision work is what we do and is a direct result of the Integrity Core Value. Some of the features of our general QC policy are as follows:
Documentation and Data Control
All our engineering team members are required to submit daily digital reports on every project deployment. The reporting is thorough, detailed, and summarized by the project lead daily. All original reporting and photos are stored on our home office server. We have secure remote site access to our server for our team members and client stakeholders.
Risk Management
Our team leaders have the wisdom that comes from years of experience in command of personnel, materials, and equipment in the dynamic world of engineering and construction. We as a composite team convene to analyze the risk potential of every project. A written risk assessment, management, and mitigation plan are made a part of every PSQCP.
Daily reports and summaries with detailed notes, photos, and other graphics Written project specific documentation control and dissemination plan
The heavy civil project series included miles of roadway and related bridge structures, port facilities improvements, buildings, and utilities.
